A workout log in a bullet journal
A workout log has two jobs: tell you what to do today, and remember what you did last time so you can add a little. A bullet journal's tasks do both. Here's a lifting log to try: tap a lift's dot to cross it off.
Plan the sessions as tasks
Make each lift a task, with the day in front:
# Lifting log x Mon · Squat 3×5 at 60 kg x Wed · Deadlift 1×5 at 80 kg . Fri · Squat 3×5 at 62.5 kg
A dot means to do. An x means done. Cross off each lift as you finish it, on your phone between sets.
Add a little each time
Before Friday, look back at Monday. 60 kg went fine, so Friday's line says 62.5. The log is the plan. There's nothing else to keep in sync.
Keep it near the day
Pin the log to Today and it's on the day's page when you open Inklings at the gym. When the week's done, the crossed-off lines stay where they are: a record you can scroll back through, or save as plain text.
